CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Feb. 17, 2009 – It’s time to let your hair down and dance the night away. “Hairspray,” Broadway’s musical comedy phenomenon that inspired a major motion picture, is coming to Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus on March 8, with two shows at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m.
The performances will be held in the Donald C. Bedell Performance Hall located in the Cultural Arts Center.

Fortunately, area residents can now see these top-quality performances without driving hours away,” said Robert Cerchio, assistant director for the River Campus, who booked the event.
“Hairspray” is a fantastically fun musical and winner of eight 2003 Tony Awards including Best Musical. The production is currently enjoying its fifth year on Broadway.
