CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,
Feb. 17, 2010 – Courtney Hanstein of Fenton, Mo., was named Recreation Services Student Co-Employee of the Month for January at Southeast Missouri State University.
Hanstein, a head lifeguard in the Student Aquatic Center (SAQ) and swim lesson instructor, was nominated for her willingness to go “above and beyond” in assisting the department over the winter break in early January.
“Courtney has been a wonderful addition to our aquatic staff. She is very professional and makes the lives of those she impacts in the SAQ that much more enjoyable,” said Troy Vaughn, director of Recreation Services.
Hanstein is a physical education major at Southeast and is a member of Alpha Chi Omega. She is pursuing a career in school counseling and would like to continue her swimming experiences as a coach someday.
The Recreation Services Student Employee of the Month is the highest achievement award given to a Recreation Services student employee for going “above and beyond” the normal call of duty to assist the program, patrons and users of the recreational facilities.
