2013_BS_AcctCAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., March 21, 2014 – The Southeast Missouri University Foundation today announced the establishment of the HD Supply Endowed Scholarship.  The renewable scholarship will be awarded to a full-time student enrolled in Southeast Missouri State University’s Donald L. Harrison College of Business.

“HD Supply strives to make a positive impact in the communities where we work and live,” stated Don Clayton, chief financial officer of HD Supply Waterworks and alumnus of Southeast Missouri State University.  “We are proud to continue our support of the university and its outstanding students through the establishment of this scholarship.”

HD Supply Waterworks, an HD Supply business and the nation’s leader in the water, wastewater, storm, and fire protection industries, of St. Louis, Mo., donated $10,000 to establish the award. The donation was matched with an additional $10,000 through the University’s matching gift program.

The matching gift program is part of the Honoring Tradition – Inspiring Success Comprehensive Campaign (the Campaign) through the Southeast Missouri University Foundation. This program allowed donors to make a minimum commitment of $5,000 to a maximum commitment of $10,000 through donation or pledge by March 1, 2014, that qualified for a $1-for-$1 match. The goal of the Campaign is to raise $40 million for student scholarships, academic programs and renovations that benefit students both today and tomorrow.

The dean of the Donald L. Harrison College of Business in consultation with representatives from HD Supply will select the recipient. The scholarship recipient must be interested in a career in the distribution industry and pursue a degree in management or finance, or a business minor. Recipients also must be in good academic standing with a minimum 2.5 overall grade point average.
