Four upcoming information sessions are planned where changes to the University Studies program due to recent higher education legislation will be discussed. In response to Senate Bill 997, the Missouri Department of Higher Education (MDHE) established the Core Curriculum Advisory Committee (CCAC) to design a general education transfer framework called CORE 42. The information sessions will focus on what CORE 42 is, what it means for Southeast’s University Studies program, what the new University Studies program will look like and next steps for implementation. Information from the MDHE will continue to be shared as it is received and processed. The information sessions are open to anyone — faculty, staff and students — who wants to learn more. For more information on CORE 42, visit here.
Sessions are as follows:
- Tuesday, Jan. 30, 1-2 p.m., Indian Room, University Center
- Thursday, Feb. 1, 3-4 p.m. Heritage Room, University Center
- Friday, Feb. 9, 9-10 a.m. Indian Room, University Center
