Kanopy Streaming Video Platform Now Available through Kent Library

kanopy 1Southeast Missouri State University’s Kent Library has recently introduced the online video streaming service, Kanopy.

The database includes more than 26,000 films from leading producers with the streaming interface, making it easy to watch, share, discuss and engage with films across campus.

Barbara Glackin, dean of Kent Library, says the collection includes documentaries; educational films; and a wealth of videos — instructional, global studies and languages, arts, business, international, health, media and communications, social sciences, sports, science and technology, among others. She says 100 to 300 new titles will be added each month.

The new platform is expected to be a wonderful resource for faculty who can embed videos, or clips from videos, into the Moodle platform, she said, to enhance the academic experience.

“It’s got some really incredible content,” Glackin said. “Students will love these great visuals” incorporated into their coursework.

Faculty can access Kanopy at http://semo.kanopystreaming.com/ by logging in with their Southeast key and password.
