Kennett Student Awarded BEC Advisory Council Scholarship to Attend Malden Campus



April 22, 2008 – John Mansfield of Kennett, Mo., has been awarded the Bootheel Education Center (BEC) Advisory Council Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University-Malden for the 2008-2009 academic year.

The BEC Advisory Council Scholarship is a one-year Crisp Bootheel Education Center (CBEC) Incentive Scholarship valued at $4,500 and covers the cost of incidental, general and textbook rental fees for up to 30 Southeast credit hours per academic year at the Southeast regional campus.

Mansfield is the son of Dempsey and Sarah Mansfield of Kennett, Mo., and will be a 2008 graduate of Holcomb High School. During his high school years, he has been active in Future Farmers of America, Art Club and band, and is a Teacher Educational Assistant.

He plans on majoring in management at Southeast.
