Koeller, Bergfeld Crowned 2018 Southeast Man and Woman of the Year


Zackary Koeller, a senior from Jackson, Missouri, and Danielle Bergfeld, a senior from Effingham, Illinois, were crowned the 2018 Man and Woman of the Year at halftime of the Southeast Missouri State University Homecoming football game on Saturday, Oct. 13, on Houck Field.

Koeller, who is pursuing a degree in health communication and a minor in Spanish, was sponsored by Phi Delta Theta. In addition to his fraternity, he is a member of Lambda Pi Eta Communication Studies Honor society, Order of Omega Honor Society, Southeast’s Interfraternity Council and Southeast’s Homecoming Planning Committee. He is executive director of the Greek Week Committee and graduate of the Emerging Leaders program. Koeller is the son of Tony and Koeller of Jackson, Missouri, and Cori and Jason Wray of Jackson, Missouri.

Bergfeld, who is pursuing a degree in accounting, was sponsored by Sigma Sigma Sigma. She is a member of Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Honor Society, Phi Eta Sigma honor society, Southeast’s Panhellenic Council and the Jane Stephens Honors Program. She is a student ambassador and graduate of Southeast’s First Year Leadership Program. Bergfeld is the daughter of Thad and Janet Bergfeld of Effingham, Illinois.
