CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Nov. 1, 2012 – Alex Jackson of Cape Girardeau has been named chief development officer with KRCU.
Jackson began his new duties Oct. 1, following a national search conducted over the summer. He replaces Amanda Lincoln who accepted a new position in June as director of development with the Southeast Missouri University Foundation.
As KRCU’s development director, Jackson is responsible for securing corporate underwriting support, all membership activities and major donor initiatives. He also represents the radio station to the business community, making contacts on a regular basis with owners, managers, advertising and marketing representatives, public relations officers, and others who make decisions regarding public radio sponsorships.
“We are excited to have Alex join our public radio team,” said KRCU General Manager Dan Woods. “He brings new energy and ideas to our development efforts and we look forward to great things during Alex’s tenure.
Originally from Cairo, Ill., Jackson graduated from Notre Dame Regional High School in Cape Girardeau. He attended the University of Mississippi, where he majored in political science and Spanish, and worked as a fund raiser for the University of Mississippi Foundation.
After graduating from the University of Mississippi, he returned to Cape Girardeau in September 2009 to join the Southeast Missouri University Foundation as the coordinator of the Annual Fund. In addition to managing the Southeast Student Telefund and the Annual Fund Campaign, he took on many projects with the Alumni Association including the Heritage Brick Plaza and the Student Alumni Association.
