CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., July 7, 2006ᾰTunde Agboke of Lexington, Ky., has been named student employee of the month for June by the Department of Recreational Sports at Southeast Missouri State University.

The Recreational Sports Employee of the Month is the highest achievement award given to the Department of Recreational Sports student employees for going “above and beyond” the normal call of duty to assist the program, patrons and users of Southeast’s recreational facilities.

Agboke is a first-year master’s degree student and currently is a counselor for the Redhawks Kids Camp at the South Student Recreation Center. Agboke is pursuing a master’s degree in public administration. He graduated in May from Southeast with a bachelor of science degree with a major in mass communication and a minor in sports management. A fifth-year member of the Redhawks football team, Agboke has brought a level of enthusiasm and excitement to the children at camp.

“He’s creative and is fun to be around,” said one camper.

Along with the award, Agboke received a Recreation Services leather binder for his professional use in the future.
