Library Holding ‘Dinosaur Day’ for Children Visiting During Family Weekend

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Sept. 17, 2004 – Younger brothers and sisters of students at Southeast Missouri State University are invited to participate in “Dinosaur Day” Sept. 25, a special event planned at Kent Library in connection with Family Weekend.

The event is scheduled for 3 to 4 p.m. in the Instructional Materials Center on the third floor of the library.

“I thought it would be fun to plan an event for the younger siblings of our students,” said Michelle Dubaj, instruction librarian at Kent Library.

“Dinosaur Day” will begin with the showing of a 30-minute Magic School Bus video on dinosaurs, fossils and an archaeological dig. After the video, children will be invited into a classroom to participate in dinosaur and fossil-related crafts and games. Children and their family members also will be invited to browse through and read from a selection of fiction and non-fiction works on fossils and dinosaurs.

Dubaj says there will be crafts, games and books available for children ages 3 to 11.
