Linda Bloodworth-Thomason to Visit Southeast Sept. 30


CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Sept. 27, 2004 — Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, celebrated writer for a number of television series, including “M*A*S*H,” “Designing Women,” and “Evening Shade,” is slated to visit the Southeast Missouri State University campus Sept. 30 to discuss her life and career.

Bloodworth-Thomason will speak at 1:30 p.m. in Forrest H. Rose Theatre. The event is free and open to the public.

A native of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Bloodworth-Thomason is the creator and former writer of the extremely popular television series “Designing Women” and “Evening Shade.” She was nominated for Emmy Awards for two of the scripts she wrote for the legendary series “M*A*S*H” and has written for several other series such as “Paper Moon,” “Rhoda,” and “One Day at a Time.”

At Southeast, Bloodworth-Thomason will describe how she went from growing up in Poplar Bluff to becoming one of the most powerful women in Hollywood. After her presentation, she will answer questions from the audience.
