Feb. 13, 2007 – Southeast Missouri State University – Malden is hosting a College Day for area high school seniors from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 6 at the Harry L. Crisp Bootheel Education Center (CBEC), located at 700 N. Douglas in Malden, Mo.
Students and their parents will learn about course offerings and degree opportunities at the Malden campus, its reduced course fees, A+ Scholarship eligibility, CBEC and University scholarships, and financial aid, said Dr. Rick Hux, director of the Malden campus.
An academic coordinator will be on hand to assist with admission information, and an admissions officer from the Cape Girardeau campus will discuss PELL grants, student loans and scholarship opportunities. Participants also may tour the facility and hear from some of last year’s area high school graduates currently attending classes at the Malden campus.
Dr. Debbie Below, director of enrollment management and admissions at Southeast, will give a brief presentation as part of College Day.
The day’s events will include a free lunch for students and their parents or sponsoring school staff members.
“This is going to be a tremendous opportunity for high school seniors to take a look at our campus and learn about all it has to offer,” Hux said. “We are really looking forward to a great turnout.”
Students interested in participating are asked to contact their school counselor for registration materials.
