CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Feb. 10, 2006 – The University Child Enrichment Center at Southeast Missouri State University is hosting “Messy Morning” April 1 in celebration of the Week of the Young Child. This activity is designed for families with young children and will celebrate the enthusiasm, creativity and energy of young children. “Messy Morning will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 1 at the Osage Community Center, 1625 N. Kingshighway. Limited booth space for organizations that support young children is available for $25. These booths must utilize a hands-on activity, such as hokey pokey, bean bag toss, shaving cream finger painting, manipulatives, arts and crafts, or anything geared towards children. The Child Enrichment Center is discouraging the use of ditto sheets or crayons. No profit is being made from this event. The booth rental cost covers the cost of the rental of the Osage Center. Creative booths will be eight-by-10 feet and will consist of one table and two chairs. Participants may request more than one booth space for additional cost.
