CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Sept. 26, 2013 – The Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum will host a panel discussion Oct. 10 titled “Building an Art Collection: Corporate, Museum and Private Collections,” at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus.
The event is scheduled for 6 p.m. The panel will serve as an introduction to the art world, providing insight into the world of collecting from many different viewpoints. Attendees will walk away with a better understanding of the benefits of collecting art, both intellectual and financial, and how to take the first steps.
Panelists will include: Shelley Hagen, curator of the Wells Fargo Collection; Peter Nguyen, director of Crisp Museum; Sarah Riley, professor of art at Southeast and art collector; and Greig Thompson, principal of Thompson Fine Art Services, Harrisburg, Mo.
