Music Academy Hosting Bookfair Dec. 1


CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Nov. 19, 2007 — The Southeast Missouri Music Academy is hosting a bookfair at Barnes & Noble on Saturday, Dec. 1.  A percentage of all sales will benefit the Academy to help with scholarship funds and equipment purchases.  Sales of any item in the store are eligible for the rebate, including Café purchases.  Sales are not limited to books.

Simply mention the Music Academy at the time of purchase or visit, and print out a voucher to present to the cashier. 

Music Academy students and faculty will perform throughout the store from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Performers will include the Southeast University Brass Quintet, flute duets by Paul and Matthew Thompson, Suzuki Strings, Academy Youth Orchestra, cello students of Sara Edgerton, piano by Tyson Wunderlich, and various other Academy students including Keith LeGrand, Christy Ha, Hannah Shemonia and Taylor Renfroe. 

Dr. Carol McDowell will be available from 3 to 5 p.m. to sign her book, The History of the Jackson Band Program, and students from Kathy Smith’s First Year Art Seminar will display their artist books. 

Book store hours are 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
