Southeast Missouri State University continues to work with its web partners on the development of a new semo.edu. To date, the University’s partners have completed the new website architecture and design, and University Marketing, with the support of many faculty and staff, has created the new content for the site. This includes all major sections of the website such as offices and services, people, events, news, catalog and search.
At this time, University Marketing and Information Technology are working with the third-party development team on the coding of these website sections. As sections are completed, University Marketing will add the content to the site.
As content is migrated, University Marketing will review new sites with departments. Although the review is a tedious step and can prolong the launch, the University website garners 8 million page views annually, and we are committed to offering both a compelling user experience and accurate, easy-to-use content.
The new semo.edu will offer a modern end-use experience that boldly embraces the University’s brand. The site will also be responsive, meaning that it is designed to give users an optimal experience regardless of their device: desktop computer, tablet or smartphone.
Although no official launch date has been set, University Marketing is projecting a launch by Oct. 15. The actual launch date will depend on the time required for each of the aforementioned tasks. University Marketing will continue to update the University community as this project nears completion.
Departments and offices that need information updated prior to the start of the fall academic semester should proceed with their site updates.
