Award-winning poet John Gallaher will perform a virtual public reading of his work on Monday, March 15, as part of the Dorothy and Wedel Nilsen Visiting Writers Series.
The event, sponsored by the Southeast Missouri State University Press, is scheduled from 7 to 8 p.m. via Zoom and Facebook Live and is free and open to the public.
The Nilsen Visiting Writer Program brings to campus several successful writers each semester to talk with students about the crafts of writing and editing. John Gallaher is the author of five books of poetry, most recently Brand New Spacesuit (BOA 2020). He has also co-authored two books, with G.C. Waldrep and with Kristina Marie Darling. His poems have appeared in The Best American Poetry, Poetry magazine, the American Poetry Review, The New England Review, The Missouri Review, Crazyhorse, Pleiades and elsewhere. He lives in rural Missouri and co-edits the Laurel Review.
