The Southeast Missouri State University Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Daniel Dunavan, will perform a concert at 8 p.m. April 27 in Rose Theatre on the Southeast campus.
Varying from their usual programming of compositions written specifically for percussion instruments, this concert will feature vocal talent, dance and harp playing. Irish and Celtic influences will set the tone for the evening, and the ensemble will be playing both original compositions written by students, as well as old favorites.
One featured performer will be Southeast freshman and renowned Irish Harp Champion, Joanna Rhodes. The extremely popular vocal group, Voce Festiva will also be performing, lending their inspiring voices to such classics as “O Danny Boy.” Another exciting addition to the concert will be dancers, as the group performs a piece from the musical “Bombay Dreams.”
Tickets are available at the Performing Arts Box Office for $7 for the general public, $6 for Southeast faculty, staff and senior citizens, and $5 for students. To order tickets, please call (573) 651-2265. Get your seats early. All tickets will be $7 at the door.
