Percussion Ensemble Presenting Family Holiday Concert Dec. 10

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Nov. 28, 2010 – The Southeast Missouri State University Percussion Ensemble will present a family holiday concert on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 10:30 a.m. in the Donald C. Bedell Performance Hall at the River Campus.

This concert is geared towards families with young children. A $1 donation is suggested for those six and older.

In addition to live festive holiday tunes performed by the Southeast Percussion Ensemble, the concert will feature the Cape Central High School 9th-12th Grade Orchestra under the direction of Steve Schaffner as special guests. In addition, the Southeast Missouri State University Cantus Choralis (Chamber Choir), under the direction of Steve Hendricks, will perform.

The holiday concert will feature scenes and songs from “Frosty,” “Rudolph” and other holiday favorites; music from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra Stage Show; and a beautiful and festive medley from “The Polar Express,” featuring the Cape Central High School Orchestra.

Coloring will be available prior to the performance, and free milk and cookies will be served at the conclusion of the concert.

Southeast’s Percussion Ensemble is under the direction of Dr. Shane Mizicko.
