Planned Electrical Outage Scheduled for Aug. 31

Facilities Management will conduct the annual campus electrical outage on Saturday, Aug. 31. This outage is conducted yearly to correspond with the Labor Day weekend.

The power will be shut down at select buildings, starting at 7:30 a.m. to conduct routine maintenance. It is anticipated that power will be restored by 3:30 p.m.

With this outage, other utilities may be affected, including fire alarms, plumbing, hot water, and cooling. All elevators for the buildings affected by this outage will be out of service from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Academic Hall and Memorial Hall will not lose power, but will lose air conditioning because of the central chiller plant being taken off line for this outage. Cooling will be restored at the end of the power outage.

It is recommended that all departments backup their computer information, data, projects and research prior to this power outage.

The following buildings will not have electricity during this outage:

  • Cheney Hall
  • Art Building
  • Parker Hall
  • Serena Building
  • Carnahan Hall
  • Brandt Hall
  • Rosemary Berkel Crisp Hall of Nursing
  • General Services 1
  • General Services 2
  • Show Me Center
  • Student Aquatic Center
  • Student Recreation Center
  • River Campus – Seminary Building
  • River Campus – Cultural Arts Center
  • River Campus – Rosemary Berkel and Harry L Crisp II Museum

Facilities Management apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. Those with questions or concerns are asked to contact Brent Pfeiffer, Building Maintenance Supervisor, at (573) 651-2214.
