CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Sept. 29, 2010 — A pre-concert reception is planned for Oct. 15 prior to the Glenn Miller Orchestra concert at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus.
The reception is scheduled for 6 to 7 p.m. and is co-sponsored by the Southeast Missouri State University Alumni Association and the Chateau Girardeau Foundation.
Reception tickets are $20 and include heavy hors d’oeuvres and a complimentary glass of wine or beverage of choice. There will also be a cash bar available.
The world famous Glenn Miller Orchestra is the most popular and sought after big band in the world today for both concert and swing dance engagements. The Glenn Miller Orchestra was originally formed in 1937. The group became very popular and recorded a number of chart successes, including the ever-popular, “Moonlight Serenade,” “Chattanooga Choo Choo” and “(I’ve Got a Gal In) Kalamazoo.”
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Donald C. Bedell Performance Hall, and tickets must be purchased separately. Reception tickets and concert tickets are both available at the River Campus Box Office and Chateau Girardeau. The River Campus Box Office is located in the Cultural Arts Center, 518 S.
