Southeast President Carlos Vargas found out on Tuesday, Nov. 17 that he came in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 and immediately went into quarantine. The contact happened over the weekend and was not during last Saturday’s commencement ceremonies.
Dr. Vargas has no symptoms and is following Protect the Nest guidelines, which are based on CDC and Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center protocols. He has been working remotely and engaging by Zoom. Provost Mike Godard and other academic officials will preside over the commencement ceremonies this weekend.
