CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Feb. 10, 2011 — The Department of Recreation Services at Southeast Missouri State University has announced that two student employees will share “Employee of the Month” honors for January.
They are Julie Slater, a graduate student from St. Louis, and Kayla Moore, a sophomore from Advance, Mo.
Slater, a fitness instructor and certified personal trainer for the department, has picked up several new clients and has also been a key component in filling in and teaching others.
“Her clients like her very much,” said Troy Vaughn, director of Recreation Services.
Slater hopes to someday assist clients with weight loss and hopes to assist in the fight against childhood obesity.
This is the second time in two years Moore has received this award.
“Kayla does a great job in the Recreation Center,” Vaughn said.
Moore is pursuing a degree in nursing and hopes to be employed in a hospital after graduating from Southeast.
