CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Feb. 25, 2005 — The Redhawk Concert Band at Southeast Missouri State University will present its first concert of the year at 8 p.m. March 10 in the University Center Ballroom.
This ensemble is comprised of both music majors and students majoring in other disciplines throughout the University. The ensemble is open to all students without audition and rehearses two days a week.
Among the many selections to be performed on this concert will be “Brighton Beach,” a concert march by William Latham and “Blessed Are They” from the German Requiem of Johannes Brahms. The Redhawk Concert Band is led by the new associate director of bands at Southeast, Dr. Robert Conger, who is also responsible for directing both jazz bands and teaching instrumental music education classes and lessons in the low brass studio.
Admission is $7 for the public, $6 for University faculty, staff and seniors, and $5 for students.
