The Regents approved adding or modifying special course fees associated with 16 courses in Arts and Media, adding one course fee in Kinesiology, Nutrition and Recreation; and removing five course fees, adding one course fee and transferring one course fee in agriculture.
The Department of Art and Design offers several courses requiring specialty materials not available locally for student purchase. The department has found that current course fees on several course offerings have not kept pace with increased costs and student usage. In addition, the Department of Agriculture offers several courses that provide a hands-on experiential learning environment and require the use of consumable supplies. A new $15 fee on a recently added course, Agriculture Mechanization, will help offset some of these costs. The Board also removed the course fees on five courses no longer being offered and moved a fee based on a change in course number.
