Regents Grant Faculty Tenure, Promotions, Post-Professorial Merit, and Non-Tenure Track Merit

The Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents voted 6-0 to award post-professorial merit to 11 faculty members and promoted eight faculty members to the rank of professor and eight to the rank of associate professor with tenure. In addition, 14 faculty members received non-tenure track merit.

All merit, promotion and tenure designations are effective with the 2020-2021 academic year.

Post-professorial merit is a voluntary additional step in the current merit process. Faculty become eligible to apply for post-professorial merit five years after attaining the rank of full professor and may repeat the process during the fifth year after any previous successful application. Successful applicants must meet the same criteria as required for promotion to professor and follow the same process of peer and administrative review.

Those approved for post-professorial merit in their designated department are as follows:

  • Jeremy Barnes – Department of Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Recreation
  • Lisa Bertrand – Department of Leadership, Middle and Secondary Education
  • Indi Braden – Department of Agriculture
  • Michelle Lyn Brune – Department of Art and Design
  • Philip Crawford – Department of Physics
  • Anthony Faber – Department of Child and Family Studies
  • Fred Jones – Department of Mass Media
  • Kenneth Stilson – Department of Theatre and Dance
  • Michael Taylor – Department of Biology
  • Irina Ustinova – Department of English
  • Victor Wilburn – Department of Child and Family Studies

Faculty members promoted to the rank of professor in their designated department are:

  • Daniel Daly – Department of Mathematics
  • Linda Garner – Department of Nursing
  • Slavica Kodish – Department of Communication Studies and Modern Languages
  • Justin Henry Miller – Department of Art and Design
  • Andrew Schwartz – Department of Mathematics
  • Sandipan Sen – Department of Marketing
  • Dustin Siegel – Department of Biology
  • Travis Smith – Department of Psychology & Counseling

Faculty members promoted to the rank of associate professor with tenure in their designated department are:
