Regents to Set Tuition, General Fees for Fall 2019

The Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents will consider a tuition and fee schedule for fall 2019 when it meets at 8:30 a.m. May 10 in the Board of Regents Room in Academic Hall.

The Regents are expected to set tuition rates for the Cape Girardeau campus, Southeast’s regional campuses and for online degree programs. The Board also will consider changes to program and course fees, also effective with the fall 2019 semester.

In other action, the Regents will consider approving the conferral of degrees for spring and summer 2019. Southeast will hold its spring commencement exercises May 11 in the Show Me Center.

Several report items are on the agenda, including the University President’s Report from Dr. Carlos Vargas; a student presentation from Shaquira Blackman of St. Louis, Missouri, a junior corporate communication major with minors in human resources management and management; and reports from Student Government President Matt Rolwing; outgoing Faculty Senate Chair Dr. David Powell and incoming Faculty Senate Chair Dr. Nicolas Wilkins; a University Marketing update from Tonya Wells, director of University Marketing; and a report on contracts and Facilities Management projects from Kathy Mangels, vice president for finance and administration.

The Regents will consider a motion to go into a closed session for appropriate considerations related to litigation; hiring, firing, disciplining or promoting of employees; and personnel records and performance ratings.

When the open session reconvenes, the Regents will announce actions taken during the closed and closed executive sessions. The final item of business will be consideration of a motion to adjourn.
