Jan. 6, 2006 – Registration is currently under way for spring 2006 semester classes at Southeast Missouri State University’s regional campuses in Sikeston, Malden, Kennett and Perryville, Mo.
New student orientation is planned on all the regional campuses for Monday, Jan. 9. Students may choose from two sessions: 1 to 3:30 p.m. or 6 to 8:30 p.m. Textbook checkout also begins Jan. 9. Students are urged to pick up their textbooks before classes begin.
On Tuesday, Jan. 10, students may take the ASSET Test at the Kennett Area Higher Education Center and the Sikeston Area Higher Education Center for placement for math and English. The ASSET Test will be administered at 6 p.m. in Sikeston and at 6:30 p.m. in Kennett.
Students may stop by the centers to pick up a schedule of classes at the regional campuses or visit http://www.semo.edu/ and choose “Satellite Campuses.” Students should then select the campus in which they are interested in attending for a complete listing of classes offered at that location.
Students who were enrolled for the fall 2005 semester who are wishing to register for the spring semester may do so online via the My Southeast student portal, using their “Southeast Key.”
Students also may stop by the centers to register. They do not need an appointment. On-site advisors and assistance are available for students wishing to enroll.
Spring semester classes at Southeast begin Jan. 17.
Registration for first eight-week classes for the spring 2006 semester will end at 9 p.m. Jan. 19. Late registrations for full semester classes for spring 2006 will be accepted until Jan. 20. Registration for second eight-week classes for the spring semester will end at 9 p.m. March 13.
Spring semester classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 17. Until then, offices at the regional campuses will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Thursday and from 8 a.m. to noon on Friday. Southeast Missouri State University and its regional campuses will be closed Monday, Jan. 16, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
Judy Buck, director of the Sikeston Area Higher Education Center, said students enrolling after Jan. 4 may complete an application for a payment plan. The form is available online at http://www.semo.edu/ and then logging on to “My Southeast,” or students may pick up a form at the regional campuses. The first payment is due Jan. 20; additional payments will be due on the 20th of the following three months. A $15 fee is charged for this service. Students may also pay by credit card by calling (573) 651-2253.
