CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Aug. 16, 2010 — Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus Art Gallery will present the first exhibit of the fall semester, a display showcasing the diverse artworks created during the Department of Art’s summer art workshops.
The exhibit opens on Monday, Aug. 23. A reception is planned for 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 3, and will be on display until Friday, Sept. 10.
This exhibition of diverse pieces created during the Department of Art’s Summer Workshops, will showcase a variety of media including ceramics, sculpture, fibers and digital design. With emphasis on skill development and individual expression, student artists will explore metal fabrication, dye techniques, various ceramics processes and an array of digital media to create this dynamic collection of work.
The River Campus Art Gallery is located on the first floor of the historic Seminary Building, Room 106. Normal Gallery hours are 1-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 to 7 p.m. on First Fridays.
