CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., April 19, 2011 – The River Campus Art Gallery at Southeast Missouri State University will host a collection of work created by the talented emerging artists in the Department of Art at the May 2011 Graduating Seniors Bachelor of Fine Art (BFA) Exhibition May 3-15.
The gallery opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 6. The River Campus Art Gallery is located on the first floor of the historic Seminary Building in Room 106.
This exhibition will display a variety of work including sculpture, painting and digital media pieces. The works in this collection are clear evidence of dedicated studio practice and rigorous creative and academic investigation. The emerging artists showcased in the exhibit demonstrate a college career’s worth of accrued knowledge, artistic exploration, rigorous critique and a strong focus on professional goals.
The BFA Exhibition is a culmination of years of fine arts study at Southeast Missouri State University and shows that fostering and challenging the creative process can produce successful, accomplished bodies of work.
