CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., March 27, 2012– The River Campus Art Gallery at Southeast Missouri State University will present four collections of works created by the talented emerging artists in the Department of Art at the May 2012 Graduating Seniors Bachelor of Fine Art (BFA) Exhibition April 9 – May 4.
The first of the four collections will run from April 9-13 with the closing reception taking place from 5-6 p.m. April 13. The next collection will be displayed April 16-20. Its closing reception will be held from 5-6 p.m. April 20. The third collection will be on exhibit April 23-27 and will celebrate its closing reception from 5-6 p.m. April 27. The final collection will be on display April 30 to May 4. The closing reception begins at 5 p.m. May 4. All collections and receptions will be in the River Campus Art Gallery located on the first floor of the historic Seminary Building in Room 106.
This exhibition displays pieces from the areas of emphasis in the Department of Art and are clear evidence of dedicated studio practice and rigorous creative and academic investigation. The emerging artists showcased in the exhibit demonstrate a college career’s worth of accrued knowledge, artistic exploration, rigorous critique and a strong focus on professional goals.
The BFA Exhibition is a culmination of years of fine arts study at Southeast Missouri State University and shows that fostering and challenging the creative process can produce successful, accomplished bodies of work.
River Campus Art Gallery hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 to 7 p.m. on the first Friday of each month. All gallery exhibitions, events and talks are free and open to the public.
