Robert E. and Dr. Eleanor G. Henry of Jackson, Missouri, made a significant gift to establish the award.
The renewable scholarship will be awarded to a full-time Southeast junior or senior with a minimum 2.75 grade point average who is pursuing an undergraduate degree in the Harrison College of Business and Computing. The award will provide funds to support one student’s tuition, fees, books, room and board. Preference will be given to students demonstrating financial need. The Harrison College of Business and Computing will select the recipient.
Mr. Henry was born in Alton, Illinois, and earned a Bachelor of Science from Shurtleff College and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Iowa. He spent his entire career in the wet-milling industry in various technical and managerial positions. He retired from the H.J. Heinz Company.
Dr. Henry was born in Galesburg, Illinois. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Eastern Illinois University, a Master of Business Administration from Western Illinois University, and a doctorate from Saint Louis University. From 2002-2014, Henry was a professor of accounting at Southeast.
Both Robert and Eleanor are active in University, community and church affairs.
