CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Aug. 4, 2010 — Jamie Ruppert of Coulterville, Ill., has been named Recreation Services Student Employee of the Month for July at Southeast Missouri State University.
The social work major is a facilities supervisor within the Department of Recreation Services. Ruppert was nominated for her work at the Student Recreation Center – North during a power outage and for her actions assisting the department and University officials in responding to the outage.
“She did an excellent job responding to this and went far above the norm in making sure our patrons were taken care of,” said Troy Vaughn, director of Recreation Services.
The Employee of the Month award is given monthly to deserving undergraduate students who excel in their performance on the job. The Recreation Services Student Employee of the month is the highest achievement award given to a Recreation Services student employee for going “above and beyond” the normal call of duty to assist the program, patrons and users of the recreational facilities.
