Sample a ‘Taste of Cape’ through Department of Theatre and Dance Fund Raiser

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., April 1, 2013 – Enjoy signature items from 13 Cape Girardeau restaurants and businesses participating in the “Taste of Cape” restaurant hop, benefiting Southeast Missouri State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance April 23.

The restaurant hop, which takes place from 5-8 p.m., includes the following restaurants: Café Soupé, My Daddy’s Cheesecake, the Venue, Primo Vino!, The Bel Air Grill, Jimmy John’s, Andy’s Frozen Custard, Imo’s Pizza, Saffron Bistro, West Bank Bistro, Cup’n Cork, Burrito Ville and treats at Mississippi Mutts for our favorite furry friends.

Each eatery will serve its signature item, and participants can choose to go to any or all of the mentioned restaurants and bakeries in the three-hour time span. Taste of Cape participants will be directed to the tables involved at the respective restaurants, and theatre and dance students will assist the patrons at each restaurant. Tickets for the hop are $10.

Dr. Phil Nacy, chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance, says the restaurant hop is a great opportunity for the community to get to know the students who will be benefitting from the fund raiser.

“This is always a fun event for the patrons and our students,” he said. “The Department of Theatre and Dance is very grateful these restaurants have agreed to become partners with us on this event. We appreciate their support of our students.”

The Theatre and Dance Society, host of the event, will use proceeds to fund the annual Senior Showcase and the newly established Theatre and Dance Academy.
