SAQ Offering Spring Swimming Lessons for Infants, Children, Adults

Learn-to-Swim programs are being offered at Southeast’s Student Aquatic Center.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Feb. 9, 2010 – The Department of Recreation Services at Southeast Missouri State University is offering several Learn-To-Swim program opportunities for University and Cape Girardeau community members in Southeast’s Student Aquatic Center (SAQ) on the University campus. Parent/Child Swim LessonsThese lessons are for infants, toddlers, and young children (ages six months and up) who need parental involvement. The basic foundation for learning to swim is formed in these classes, which are taught by the SAQ staff. Session Dates: April 10-May 8Deadline to Register: Wednesday, April 7Class Days/Times: Saturdays, 9 a.m.Fees: Members: $40; Non-members: $50

Youth Swim LessonsThese lessons are for children (under 14 years of age) who are comfortable leaving their parents behind and enrolling in a swim class on their own. This program offers swimming instruction with classes taught by the SAQ staff and is kept small to ensure low student-to-teacher ratios. Session Dates: April 10-May 8Deadline to Register: Wednesday, April 7Class Days/Times: Saturdays, 10 a.m.Fees: Members: $40; Non-members: $50

Private Swim LessonsScheduled on an individual basis, lessons can be tailored to fit any swimmer. There is a one-to-one instructor-to-student ratio. Group lessons are available upon request.
