CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., March 27, 2009 — The Department of Recreation Services at Southeast Missouri State University is offering several Learn-To-Swim program opportunities for University and Cape Girardeau community members in Southeast’s new Student Aquatic Center (SAQ) on the University campus.
Parent/Child Swim Lessons
These lessons are for infants, toddlers, and young children (ages six months and up) who need parental involvement. The basic foundation for learning to swim is formed in these classes, which are taught by the SAQ staff.

Youth Swim Lessons
These lessons are for children (under 14 years of age) who are comfortable leaving their parents behind and enrolling in a swim class on their own. This program offers swimming instruction with classes taught by the SAQ staff and is kept small to ensure low student-to-teacher ratios.

Private Swim Lessons
Scheduled on an individual basis, lessons can be tailored to fit any swimmer. There is a 1:1 instructor-to-student ratio. Group lessons are available upon request. Sessions are 30 minutes in length and are only offered during open recreation hours in the SAQ.
