SE Alerts System, Tornado Warning Sirens Being Tested Sept. 2

Southeast will test its tornado warning siren system and SE Alerts notification system at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 2. In the event of severe weather, the test will be postponed.

Those on or near both the main campus and River Campus can expect to hear the sirens sound outside at noon, and students in residence halls will hear an indoor alert. An SE Alerts email with a test message will be sent to all active faculty, staff and student University email accounts, and an SE Alerts test text message will be sent to all active faculty, staff and student cell phones on file with the University.

Those using personal computers connected to the University’s local area network can expect to see a test message from the desktop notification system (Alertus) appear on their office computer screen at noon. The desktop notification system (Alertus) is used to deliver information regarding weather alerts or other emergencies.
