CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,
June 18, 2007 – Youths participating this summer in Southeast Missouri State University’s Redhawks Kids Camp are also doing their part in the way of community service.
The youths are collecting non-perishable canned food items for the Red Star Baptist Church Food Pantry. Those interesting in donating, may drop off items at the Redhawks Kids Camp Headquarters at 926 Broadway in the Student Recreation Center-South.
The camp will also be collecting cans at the annual Southeast Missourian “Parks and Recreation Day” from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 5 at the Osage Center. Community members are asked to bring in a canned food item, place it in the box at the Redhawks Kids Camp tent and receive a small token of appreciation from the camp.
Please join youth from the Redhawks Kids Camp as they learn to serve the community they live in and to provide the needy of the community with food for their families. For more information, contact the Redhawks Kids Camp directly at (573) 651-2600 or e-mail Sally Smith at firstname.lastname@example.org.
