The Missouri National Guard’s Civil Support Team (CST) will conduct a full-scale exercise June 4-5 called Shaken Fury 2019 in locations across Cape Girardeau, including Cheney Hall at Southeast Missouri State University. The scenario will be based on a 7.7 magnitude earthquake. Chemical and biological hazard training will be held in Cheney Hall. As part of the training, military vehicles, equipment and personnel will be on Southeast’s main campus conducting and participating in various exercises. During this time, parking lot 4-6, north of Cheney Hall and adjacent to Parker Hall, will be unavailable. Faculty and staff are encouraged to park in parking lot 4-5, across Henderson Street from Parker Hall. Rapid triage will be exercised at SoutheastHEALTH, and task force dogs will participate in searches at Cape Junior High School, where military helicopters also are expected to offload Missouri National Guard personnel. If you have questions or need additional information, contact Southeast’s Department of Public Safety at (573) 651-2215.
