Sheriff is one of three University representatives on the Board of Managers along with Dr. Trudy Lee, vice president of University Advancement and executive director of the Southeast Missouri University Foundation, and Rhonda Weller-Stilson, dean of the Earl and Margie Holland College of Arts and Media. City representatives on the Board of Managers are Scott Meyer, Danielle Poyner and Sophia Han.
The Cooperation Agreement for the St. Vincent Seminary property between the City of Cape Girardeau and Southeast Missouri State University calls for both the City Council and the Board of Regents to each appoint three members to the River Campus Board of Managers.
