CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Oct. 5, 2007 — The Alumni Association of Southeast Missouri State University will honor six individuals with Distinguished Service Awards during Homecoming festivities Oct. 20.
Recipients will be Terry Allen of Memphis, Tenn., corporate logistics manager for the Memphis Distribution Center of Cummins, Inc.; Barb Herbert of Cape Girardeau, Mo., music programmer with KRCU, Southeast Public Radio, and host of the station’s “Sunday Night at the Opera” program; Don and Sue (Harbison) McNeely of Cape Girardeau, Mo., retired news anchor and meteorologist for KFVS12 and retired teacher, respectively; Pat Morehead of Malden, Mo., office manager at Morehead Clinic in Malden and a member of the Crisp Bootheel Education Center Advisory Council; and Billy Swan of Nashville, Tenn., an internationally known recording artist.
Distinguished Service Awards are presented to individuals who have made lasting contributions to their communities and to the University. Each of the 2007 recipients has brought distinction to Southeast through a lifetime of support and commitment. Recipients are former students, graduates or volunteers who were evaluated on professional growth, service to the University and individual character.
The awards will be given at an All Alumni Breakfast to be held at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 20 in the newly relocated Wehking Alumni Center, 926 Broadway.
