Applications are due Friday, Oct. 18, for students wishing to participate in the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) four-day seminar on international and domestic policy March 15-19 during Spring Break.
Completed applications should be submitted as a single packet by email to firstname.lastname@example.org (preferred method) or as a hard copy to Dr. Willie Redmond, Dempster Hall, Room 239, MS 5845.
Each student applicant should have a minimum 3.25 cumulative grade point average and a minimum of 60 hours at the start of the 2020 spring semester. In addition, students should be enrolled at Southeast through the fall semester of 2020. Applicants must also demonstrate leadership activities and academic excellence. For details about CSIS and a downloadable application form, visit https://www.semo.edu/csis/.
Student participants will be charged a $900 CSIS Workshop/Travel fee. However, thanks to generous donors, all participants will receive a $500 scholarship. Therefore, student participants will only pay $400 towards the cost of the program. Many thanks are also given to the respective colleges for their support of the program.
Students will also be enrolled for credit in “UI498 Senior Seminar” and will be responsible for the tuition and fees for the three-credit hour course. This blended course will have five face-to-face meetings during the semester. These meetings dates are available at https://www.semo.edu/csis/.
Along with some of the world’s leading experts as facilitators, students will have the opportunity to examine significant social, economic, environmental and governmental issues from a global perspective. Additionally, free time will allow for tours of Washington, D.C., attractions and government offices.
Specific questions about the CSIS program can be directed to Dr. Willie Redmond at email@example.com.
