Southeast’s regional campuses in Sikeston, Malden and Kennett, Missouri, will celebrate the total solar eclipse as well, with classes canceled from noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 21. A video stream from the Cape Girardeau campus and eclipse viewing glasses will be available. Eclipse T-shirts will be distributed to regional campus students at Malden and Kennett and to Southeast students at the Poplar Bluff Delivery Site. The Malden Campus will serve “eclipse dogs” and show the live video stream from the Cape Girardeau campus in Room 131 and the library. The Kennett Regional Campus will have games with prizes, a live radio broadcast and food. Hot dogs and soft drinks will be served at the Sikeston, Malden and Kennett campuses.
The Cape College Center will serve lunch to its students with sandwiches, snacks and drinks. Students are invited to bring chairs and participate in an eclipse viewing party featuring music in front of the building at 1050 S. Silver Springs Road. T-shirts and eclipse glasses will be distributed.
