Southeast Missouri State University has established new guidelines to govern the operation of Small Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) or drones on or above a Southeast campus or university properties.

The guidelines support the use of UAS in ways that ensure the safety and protect the privacy of all members of the University community and promote compliance with all applicable federal and state laws.

The new guidelines can be reviewed at www.semo.edu/dronecompliance.

In addition to the University guidelines, the website also provides fact sheets, answers to frequently asked questions about drones and flying, indoor safety guidelines, a Request to Purchase Form and a Permission to Fly Request Form and checklists for users.

For more information or questions about the University’s guidelines, contact Chris Martin, chief of staff and assistant to the president for strategy and government relations at Southeast, at (573) 651-2322 or cmartin@semo.edu.
