Southeast Baroque Trio Reunites. Special Guest to Perform First Concert of the Year


CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Sept. 3, 2004 — Southeast Missouri State University’s Department of Music invites the public to its first musical offering of the 2004-2005 school year with a concert by the Southeast Baroque Trio at 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16 in Old St. Vincent’s Church.

The Southeast Baroque Trio consists of Sara Edgerton on cello, Paul Thompson on flute, and Gary Miller on harpsichord. This concert also will feature a special appearance by Baroque Violinist Brandon Christensen. The trio performs on instruments which are originals or replicas of those used during the Baroque era.

The concert on Sept. 16 will showcase pieces by Telemann, Biber and Leclair, among other masters of the French, Italian, and German Baroque period.

Tickets are available in advance by calling the Performing Arts Box Office at (573) 651-2265 or in the lobby of the Rose Theatre. All tickets are $7 at the door. Students and senior citizens will receive discounts by buying advance tickets.
