CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Nov. 14, 2012 – Southeast Missouri State University emerging artists will be spotlighted in the annual Fall Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Graduating Seniors Exhibitions Nov. 28 through Dec. 9 in the River Campus Art Gallery.
The first fall BFA exhibition will run from Nov. 26-30. The closing reception for this exhibition will be from 5-7 p.m. Nov. 30 in the gallery. The second fall BFA exhibition will run from Dec. 3-7, and its closing reception will take place from 5-7 p.m. Dec. 7, also in the gallery.
The BFA exhibitions are a culmination of years of the students’ fine arts study. The exhibitions show how fostering and challenging the creative process can produce successful, accomplished bodies of work. These emerging student-artists use a college career’s worth of knowledge, artistic exploration and intensive critique to create the bodies of work in ceramics, digital art, graphic design/illustration, painting, printmaking or sculpture.
“We moved to having one week shows for the BFA Exhibitions so that each graduating senior could have more room to display the body of work they developed throughout their last two semesters of coursework,” says Kristin Powers Nowlin, Gallery coordinator.
The River Campus Art Gallery is located on the first floor of the historic Seminary Building in Room 106.
River Campus Art Gallery hours are 1-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1-7 p.m. on First Fridays. All gallery exhibitions, events and talks are free and open to the public. For more information, contact Gallery Coordinator Kristin Powers Nowlin at firstname.lastname@example.org or (573) 651-5901.
