Southeast Celebrating Second Annual Transfer Pride Week Jan. 22-26


 Southeast will celebrate the Second Annual Transfer Pride Week across campus Jan. 22-26 with events for students, faculty and staff.

The week highlights and recognizes transfer students on the Southeast campus.

As part of the event, all students are encouraged to pick up special Transfer Pride Week passports from the Office of Admissions or the Office of Residence Life. Students will collect stamps at each event and various offices across campus throughout the week. Passports will also be available at each event, and can be turned in by 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 28, to the Office of Residence Life to be entered into a prize drawing.

This year’s events include:

Photo Booth and T-Shirt Giveaway, Jan. 22, 2-4 p.m.: Transfer students can visit a photo booth on the first floor of Kent Library wearing a T-shirt from a previous college or university and get their “before” picture taken, then choose a Southeast T-shirt for their “after” photo.

Walk-In Wednesday, Jan. 23, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.:  Career Services hosts this special event in Academic Hall Room 57 to share information with students on the transferable skills they bring to Southeast.

Winter Welcome Involvement Fair, Jan. 23, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.: Join Campus Life and Event Services and Southeast Involvement Ambassadors to learn about student organizations and involvement at Southeast. This event will be held on the third floor of the University Center.

Martin Luther King Jr. Dinner Celebration, Jan. 23, 5 p.m.: Complimentary tickets are available to transfer students who would like to attend Southeast’s Dr.Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Dinner in the Show Me Center. To be guaranteed a ticket, contact Allie Wisker at by Monday, Jan. 21.

Donuts in the Dome, Jan. 24, 9:30-10:30 a.m.: Free donuts and a chance to take part in a Southeast tradition of visiting the Academic Hall Dome. Sponsored by the Office of the President.

Night at the Museum, Jan. 24, 7-9 p.m.: Make crafts, enjoy snacks and visit the exhibits in the Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum at Southeast’s River Campus.

Women’s and Men’s Basketball Games, Jan. 26, 2 and 4:30 p.m.: Cheer on the Redhawks women’s and men’s basketball teams as they take on Eastern Illinois University. A group photo will be taken during halftime of the men’s game. Faculty or staff to may receive a free ticket to the games by contacting Allie Wisker at or (573) 651-2975 by Wednesday, Jan. 24.
