CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,
Aug. 31, 2007 – The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive at Southeast Missouri State University Sept. 10-14.
Hours will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 10-12 and Sept. 14. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 13. The blood drive will be held in the University Center.
All donors will receive a complimentary T-shirt.
American Red Cross officials say the need for blood is ongoing. In the Missouri-Illinois region, healthy individuals 17 years of age and older (16 with a signed American Red Cross parental or legal guardian consent form) and weighing 110 pounds or more are eligible to donate blood. Federal regulations require whole blood donors to wait 56 days between donations. Platelet donors can donate as many as 24 times a year.
