The fund-raising event, in which individuals or teams will rappel 147 feet to help raise funds to support about 40 local programs, will be held at Towers South. Among the United Way’s funded partners at Southeast are the A.P.P.L.E. Project, Educare, the Center for Speech and Hearing, and the Student Emergency Fund.
In celebration of its 50th anniversary this year, the United Way has set a goal of securing 50 Edgers to together raise $50,000. Southeast employees are encouraged to participate. (Each participant is asked to raise $1,000.)
A Fearless Edger Signing Party for those wishing to register to go “over the edge” in June is planned for 4:30-7 p.m. Feb 5 at 21 Taps, 36 N. Spanish Street, in downtown Cape Girardeau.
Those wishing to create a team may also do so online at https://give.overtheedge.events/ote-uwsemo2020?ref=ab_67qcH9. Teams can select to raise money for any of the United Way-supported programs at Southeast. Teams do not have a minimum or maximum number of participants, but for every individual who registers, the team must raise an additional $1,000. (6 team members = $6,000).
