Southeast Missouri State University’s Department of Art is sponsoring a printmaking demonstration from visiting artists Alejandra Mares, Juan José Huerta and Xavier Moreno from León, Mexico, Saturday, Aug. 12 at Don Carlos Authentic Mexican Restaurant and Taqueria in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
The demonstration is scheduled from 1-3 p.m. and is open to the public. Don Carlos Authentic Mexican Restaurant and Taqueria is located in the West Park Mall, 3049 William St.
“Convergents,” a collection of prints from Mares, Huerta and Moreno, is currently on display at Southeast’s Catapult Creative House, 612 Broadway in downtown Cape Girardeau.
The exhibition will run through Sept. 28 and is part of a celebration of Hispanic Culture, corresponding, in part, with Hispanic Heritage Month Sept. 15-Oct. 15.
Throughout the months of August and September, Catapult will host a number of events to complement the work of these talented artists.
